Prof. Vangelis Tzouvelekas-ASSEE Academic Director
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

He is Professor of Microeconomic Theory and Policy at the Department of Economics, University of Crete. He has a B.Sc. in Economics from University of Pireaus and a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy from University of Wales, Aberystwyth. His research experience includes production economics and duality theory, applied microeconometrics and economics of innovations. He has also participated in several international and National research projects and he has published his work in relevant academic outlets including European Economic Review, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and Journal of Productivity Analysis among others. He has held visiting positions at the University of Cyprus, Warwick Business School and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (at Chania). 

Ass. Prof. Margarita Genius-ASSEE Managing Director
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

She is Associate Professor of Applied Econometrics at the Department of Economics, University of Crete. She got her B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Barcelona and her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. She has held an Assistant Professor position at the Department of Economics, University of Michigan. Her research experience is applied econometrics in the areas of environmental economics, production economics and natural resources. She has participated in several National and European projects and her research has been published in academic journals such as Economics Letters, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics and Resource and Energy Economics.

Ast. Prof. Michail Tsagris-ASSEE Managing Director
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

Michail Tsagris received his BSc and MSc in statistics from the Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece) and his PhD in statistics from the University of Nottingham. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and UoC. He has published more than 30 papers in journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. His current research interests include computational statistics, feature selection algorithms, compositional and directional data analysis.

 

Prof. Spiro Stefanou-ASSEE Academic Advisor
Dept of Food and Resource Economics, University of Florida 

He is Professor and Chair of Food and Resource Economics at the University of Florida and currently holds a part-time appointment in the Business Economics Group at Wageningen University (Netherlands).   He received a B.A. in anthropology from George Washington University in 1977, an M.S. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Maryland in 1979, and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the University of California, Davis in 1983. His research interests focus on productivity analysis, innovation and efficiency. He was Professor of Agricultural Economics at Penn State University since 1983. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and was a Marie Curie Senior Fellow at the University of Crete, Mansholt Senior Fellow at Wageningen University, and Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute.  He has been a visiting professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies, and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania. 

Dr Konstantinos Chatzimichael- ASSEE KAM Manager
Dept of Commerce, Finance and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology 

He is currently special scientist at the Department of Commerce, Finance, and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology, and part-time lecturer at Cyprus Institute of Marketing. He got his B.Sc. in Economics from University of Crete. He holds a PhD in microeconomics from University of Crete. His research interests cover the fields of Production Economics, Economics of Productivity and Innovation, and Panel Data Econometrics. His research has been published in the Journal of Productivity Analysis and in the Food Policy. He has also participated in several European and National research project.

Dr Iosif Kafkalas - ASSEE Secretary
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

He has a B.Sc. in Economics from University of Crete, M.Sc. in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business and a PhD in Economics and Decision Analysis from University of Crete in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Resource Economics at University of Maryland. His research experience includes Applied Microeconomics, Data Envelopment Analysis and applications in Business and Tourism. He has participated in several international research projects and holds visiting positions at Business Colleges in Cyprus and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania.
